Dolores Lambaša: Remembering the Croatian actress 13 years after her death

Thirteen years after her passing, the life and career of Croatian actress Dolores Lambaša are being remembered. Born in Šibenik in 1981, Lambaša became one of Croatia’s most prominent public figures, known for her work in television series such as ‘Ruža vjetrova’, ‘Dobre namjere’, and ‘Zakon ljubavi’, as well as her theatrical performances.

Lambaša died at the age of 32 following a severe car accident on the A3 highway near Velika Kopanica on October 23, 2013. The accident occurred when the vehicle she was traveling in, driven by colleague Stojan Matavulj, struck another car. Despite emergency resuscitation efforts at a hospital in Slavonski Brod, she succumbed to her injuries.

Matavulj, who was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.66 per mille, was later sentenced to one year in prison for causing the accident through negligence. Lambaša was buried in her hometown of Šibenik, where her gravestone features an emotional message dedicated to her mother, Alma Petrović.
