Dolphins Cancer Challenge reaches $100 million fundraising milestone
The Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) has reached a milestone of $100 million raised for cancer research and patient care. Established in 2010 in honor of former Miami Dolphins player Jim Mandich, the initiative has grown into the largest annual fundraiser in the National Football League.
All funds raised through the challenge are directed toward research and treatment at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. A recent $1 million contribution from the Channel 7 and Channel 18 foundations helped push the total past the $100 million mark. The event features various athletic activities, including cycling routes ranging from 13 to 99 miles, as well as running and walking options.
The organization expects significant growth in future participation, with more than 10,000 people projected to participate in February 2027. The Miami Dolphins organization plans to celebrate this financial achievement during their upcoming Crucial Catch game.
