Dolphins face contract hurdles with stars Tabuai-Fidow and Farnworth

The Dolphins are facing significant contract challenges as they attempt to retain key stars Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Herbie Farnworth. Tabuai-Fidow, the club's fullback, is reportedly seeking approximately $1.4 million per season in his next deal. While he is currently contracted until the end of 2027, he will be eligible to negotiate with rival clubs starting November 1.

Similarly, centre Herbie Farnworth has decided to postpone his contract negotiations until after the NRL finals series and the World Cup. Farnworth stated that his current focus is on the team's premiership campaign, noting, “All my energy and focus is on the finals series and when the time is right we will talk.”

The club faces a complex period as multiple players become eligible for negotiations toward the end of 2027, potentially complicating roster management amid upcoming salary cap changes.
