Dom Kombatanta facilities in Poland undergo accessibility upgrades

Social care facilities known as ‘Dom Kombatanta’ in Poland are undergoing significant infrastructure improvements to enhance accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly.

In Łódź, the facility at Przyrodnicza 24/26 is undergoing modernization to create a more inclusive environment. Key updates include adapting staircases for those with visual and mobility impairments, redesigning rooms to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers, and improving evacuation routes. Following heavy rainfall that revealed a leaking roof, the scope of work was expanded to include roof repairs. The project is expected to be completed by September 15.

In Lubliniec, the ‘Dom Kombatanta’ im. św. Rafała Kalinowskiego has opened a new outdoor space designed for therapy and social interaction. The investment includes approximately 80 square meters of leveled, hardened surface suitable for wheelchairs, along with three themed wooden gazebos. This new area provides residents with a safe space for outdoor activities and integration.
