Dom Lawson suffers heart attack at Bloodstock festival

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support veteran music journalist Dom Lawson following a heart attack at the Bloodstock Open Air festival. Lawson, a prominent writer for publications including Metal Hammer, Prog, The Guardian, and Blabbermouth, was hospitalized after the incident over the weekend.

Lawson shared the news via social media, noting that he is awaiting surgery and remarked, “Managed to avoid dying, so that was a good start.” The fundraiser, established by a friend with the approval of Lawson’s partner, seeks to raise £6,600 to assist with financial difficulties caused by his inability to perform freelance work during his recovery.

Lawson has been a figure in music journalism since 1999, previously serving as editor-at-large for Metal Hammer and hosting “The Dompilation Tapes” on TotalRock.
