DOM party calls for transparency on National Data Center location

The political party DOM is demanding public justification and transparency regarding the selection of the location for the National Data Center. The call follows flooding in the former ‘Nova Makedonija’ building, which highlighted the necessity for secure digital infrastructure for state institutions.

DOM is requesting that the Government and the Ministry of Digital Transformation publish the specific criteria used to select the site and clarify whether alternative locations were considered. The party also seeks technical details, including the project's capacity in megawatts (MW) and the planned operational solutions.

Furthermore, DOM emphasizes that environmental and social impact studies must be conducted as a substantive part of the planning process rather than a mere formality. The party argues that public information and participation should be integrated into the planning stages rather than being treated as a final step after decisions have already been made.
