Dom Pedro Fedalto celebrated for 100th birthday in Curitiba

A Thanksgiving Mass was held in Curitiba to celebrate the 100th birthday of Dom Pedro Antônio Marchetti Fedalto, the emeritus Archbishop of Curitiba. The ceremony took place at the São José Seminary and was presided over by Metropolitan Archbishop Dom José Antonio Peruzzo.

Dom Pedro Fedalto is recognized as a significant figure in the history of the Catholic Church in Paraná. His pastoral career includes the establishment of 74 new parishes and the ordination of 74 diocesan priests. He also served as the president of the Regional South 2 of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) for 28 years.

The event was attended by numerous civil and religious authorities, including the Governor of Paraná, Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, and the Mayor of Curitiba, Eduardo Pimentel. During the celebration, Dom Pedro received a special apostolic blessing sent by the Pope.
