Domaine Claudy Clavien named Swiss Winery of the Year
At the 20th edition of the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse held in Bern, Domaine Claudy Clavien from Miège, Valais, was awarded the title of ‘Winery of the Year’. The estate, currently managed by Claudy Clavien and his daughter Shadia, secured the honor with two category wins, including the Syrah category for ‘Encre de la Terre Les Coteaux de Sierre 2024’ and the white assemblage category for ‘Eclats d’âme Les Coteaux de Sierre 2025’.
Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen AG from Salgesch successfully defended its title as ‘Winery of the Decade (2017–2026)’, a distinction it previously earned in 2016. Other notable winners from the Valais region included Fernand Cina SA, which received two category wins, and Weingut Seewer from Susten.
The gala, attended by over 600 guests, highlighted the dominance of the Valais canton in the Swiss wine industry. Additionally, the Geneva-based winery Clos du Château won the ‘Prix Vin Bio’ for its MajesT 2023.
