Domaine des Faverges vineyard partially reopens after major renovation
The historic Domaine des Faverges vineyard has partially reopened following a multi-year modernization project. Owned by the Canton of Fribourg and located in the Lavaux wine region, the estate underwent intensive renovations to address aging infrastructure.
The project, which saw total expenditures reach 19.9 million CHF, has allowed for the initial reopening of the Maison du Vigneron. This facility offers guided tours and tastings for the public. While the entire site is not yet fully accessible, a complete reopening of the estate is scheduled for June 2027.
Originally established in 1138, the 15.4-hectare estate has been under the administration of the Fribourg state since 1848. The recent upgrades include a newly outfitted tasting room designed to facilitate easier public access to the cellar levels.
