Domaine du Taillé retreat in Ardèche offers nature‑based yoga and meditation vacations

The Domaine du Taillé retreat, set on a 100‑hectare site in the Ardèche department of southeastern France, provides a nature‑focused getaway for yoga, meditation and wellness. The property includes a main house, restaurant, multiple indoor and outdoor studios, a natural‑water pool, and a range of accommodation from simple tents to private houses with gardens. Founded in the 1970s by Philippe and Annie Drouin after a two‑year stay at a Zen temple in Kyoto, the centre evolved into its current form in 1993 under their son Jean Drouin, who continues the family’s vision of a healing environment.

The retreat hosts dozens of instructors who run over 300 different programmes each year, offering daily yoga sessions, meditation, and workshops that progress in difficulty over a week‑long stay. Guests also enjoy locally sourced meals, outdoor walks, and the surrounding Ardèche mountains, which are part of a national park. Participants report feeling refreshed, more mindful, and reconnected with loved ones after their stay.
