Domaine Lafage harvest begins 15 days early in Perpignan region
At the Domaine Lafage estate near Perpignan, Nicolas Gougelet, the head of the harvest, reported that vines are being harvested about fifteen days ahead of the usual schedule. The early start is attributed to favorable weather conditions that accelerated grape ripening this season.
The advance harvest marks an unusual shift for the winery, which typically begins picking later in the summer. Workers at the estate are adjusting their timelines to accommodate the premature vintage.
