Nika and Domen Prevc face equipment penalties heading into winter season
Slovenian ski jumping stars Nika and Domen Prevc face disciplinary challenges heading into the winter season. The International Ski Federation (FIS) has confirmed that yellow cards issued to both athletes for equipment irregularities will not expire at the end of the summer season but will remain valid for 12 months from the date of receipt.
Nika Prevc received a yellow card on September 25 in Hinterzartun due to improper suit permeability. Domen Prevc received a yellow card on October 4 following a disqualification caused by an oversized suit. These penalties carry over directly into the winter season; a second yellow card would result in a red card.
In recent competition news, the siblings also saw a shift in national standings. During the Slovenian Championships in Kranj, both titleholders missed out on gold medals. Anze Lanisek secured the men's title, while Ema Klinec won the women's competition, leaving the Prevc siblings in third and second place respectively.
