Juan Manuel Reverter arrested in US for femicide of Argentine model Agostina Jalabert
Argentine model and influencer Agostina Jalabert was found dead in her Playa del Carmen apartment on 18 February 2023. The death was first treated as a suicide, but subsequent forensic reviews and testimonies led prosecutors to reclassify the case as femicide.
Juan Manuel Reverter, Jalabert’s former boyfriend, became the primary suspect. He evaded capture for more than three years, prompting an Interpol red‑notice. In July 2026 U.S. law‑enforcement agencies in Oregon located and detained Reverter after coordinated efforts with Argentine and Mexican authorities. The arrest paves the way for his extradition to face murder charges in Argentina.
