Domenico Modugno tributes scheduled for Italian theaters

Various theatrical productions paying tribute to the life and music of Italian singer Domenico Modugno are scheduled for late October 2026 in Italy.

In Carpi, Mario Perrotta will present ‘Nel blu’ at the Teatro Comunale on October 23. The performance, which serves as the opening for the L’Altro Teatro festival, uses Modugno’s songs to explore the post-war economic boom and the singer's journey from Puglia to international fame. The production features Perrotta alongside musicians Vanni Crociani, Giuseppe Franchellucci, and Massimo Marches.

In Santa Teresa Riva, Mario Incudine will perform ‘Mimì da Sud a Sud’ at the Nuovo Teatro Val d’Agrò on October 25. Directed by Moni Ovadia and Giuseppe Cutino, the show connects Modugno’s musical legacy with the experiences of people from Southern Italy. The performance highlights Modugno’s connection to Sicily and his pursuit of universal dreams through song.
