Domenico Naccari presents book on integration in Riace

During a conference in Riace titled ‘Borders between States: bridges and not barriers,’ Domenico Naccari, the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco in Calabria, presented his book, ‘Il vento di Dakhla, il sole della Calabria.’

Naccari emphasized that integration and solidarity are values that transcend political affiliations, stating that they belong to individual conscience and the way people choose to view others. He noted that as a consul, his role is to represent an institution focused on building relationships and fostering dialogue between communities and peoples.

The event included a discussion with Mimmo Lucano, a Member of the European Parliament and Mayor of Riace, regarding the city’s experience with migrant reception and the human significance of migration. The discussion also explored the strategic potential of peripheral territories like Dakhla and Calabria to serve as connection points between Europe and Africa, including potential cooperation between Gioia Tauro and Tanger Med.
