Domenico Paviglianiti, 'Ndrangheta boss, extradited from Spain to Italy

Domenico Paviglianiti, a high-ranking member of the 'Ndrangheta mafia clan, has been extradited from Spain to Italy. Paviglianiti, who had been a fugitive since 2022, was captured by the Spanish National Police on June 26 during a joint operation with Italy's Guardia di Finanza.

Following his capture in Soria, Spain, the Spanish judiciary ordered his extradition to Italy. He was escorted from Madrid-Barajas Airport to Rome Fiumicino Airport by Interpol and Italian authorities. Upon arrival in Italy, he was transferred to prison to serve a combined sentence of over 19 years for crimes including mafia association, murder, and weapons offenses, as ordered by the Bologna Prosecutor's Office.
