DOMi & JD BECK release new jazz-fusion album ‘Who Asked?’

Jazz-fusion duo DOMi & JD BECK have released their second album, ‘Who Asked?’, via Blue Note Records. Departing from the high-profile guest collaborations seen on their debut, such as Thundercat and Snoop Dogg, the duo focuses on their own vocals and intricate instrumental arrangements.

The production features a unique technical approach, utilizing the Neumann KU 100 dummy head microphone to record much of the complex instrumentation, including strings, vocals, and drums. The music blends various genres, including jazz, lo-fi hip-hop, drum ’n’ bass, classical, and pop, characterized by JD Beck’s polyrhythmic drumming and DOMi’s complex keyboard and bass work.
