Dominic Musonda leads Johnnie Walker Uganda Amateur Open after third round

Dominic Musonda has taken a commanding six-stroke lead heading into the final round of the 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Amateur Open at the Uganda Golf Club. Musonda, a member of Nkana Golf Club and last year's runner-up, carded an eight-under-par 64 during the third round. His bogey-free performance included six birdies and one eagle.

Zambian golfer Gilbert Chalwe, who held the lead after the second day following a seven-under-par 65, played a one-under 71 in the third round. Ugandan golfer Joseph Kasozi, the leader after the first day, struggled in the third round with a four-over 75, leaving him 10 strokes behind Musonda.

Other notable competitors in the top five following 54 holes include Juma Abiti, John Musiimenta, and defending champion Joseph Cwinya-ai. The championship concludes with the final 18 holes on Friday, August 28, 2026.
