Dominic Sessa to star in Anthony Bourdain biopic ‘Tony’

Dominic Sessa, known for his role in ‘The Holdovers’, will portray a young Anthony Bourdain in the upcoming biopic ‘Tony’. Directed by Matt Johnson, the film is described as a 1970s-era coming-of-age story that explores Bourdain’s early years before he became a world-renowned chef and television personality.

The film features Antonio Banderas and Leo Woodall alongside Sessa. The narrative focuses on a 19-year-old Bourdain navigating life and his aspirations to become a writer, referencing literary influences such as George Orwell and Jack Kerouac.

Sessa has discussed the parallels between his own youthful rebellious behavior and the early life of Bourdain, noting that while he was a ‘beach bum’ near Atlantic City, he felt a connection to the character’s formative struggles.
