Dominic Solanke faces scrutiny amid Tottenham's difficult start

Dominic Solanke faces scrutiny at Tottenham Hotspur following a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign. The striker, signed for up to £65 million, has scored only one goal in seven appearances across all competitions, with his sole strike occurring in a Carabao Cup match against Charlton Athletic.

Tottenham currently sits in 20th place in the Premier League after a five-match winless streak. While some analysts question the high cost of the transfer in relation to his output, former striker Bobby Zamora suggests Solanke's success is tied to head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s tactical implementation. Zamora noted that De Zerbi has focused heavily on foundational build-up patterns and structural principles, which has temporarily limited service to the forward line. Zamora believes Solanke will flourish once the team masters these complex patterns and positional discipline.
