Dominic Vavassori scores on Palermo debut in Coppa Italia

Dominic Vavassori made a successful debut for Palermo, scoring a goal against Lecce in the Coppa Italia just fifteen minutes after entering the match. During a press conference at the Palermo CFA, the 2005-born striker expressed the immense emotion of scoring in front of 33,000 fans at the Barbera stadium.

Coach Filippo Inzaghi jokingly challenged the young player to score at least 15 goals, given his choice of the number 9 jersey. Vavassori, who chose the number because it is his birthday and a significant number for the club, stated that while he hopes to reach such a milestone, his primary focus is achieving the team's collective goals.

Previously part of the Atalanta first team, Vavassori noted that he accepted the move to Palermo immediately upon hearing of their interest, believing it to be the right environment to help the club reach its objectives.
