Dominica receives marine health honors and regional passport rankings

Dominica has received several international recognitions regarding its marine environment and travel mobility. In the Scuba Diving magazine 2027 Readers Choice Awards, divers ranked Dominica among the top five destinations in the Caribbean and Atlantic region for the health of its marine environment. The island also earned top 10 rankings for macro life, best value, and wall diving.

In terms of travel mobility, a 2026 assessment ranks Dominica ninth among 14 CARICOM members for passport strength, providing access to 136 destinations through visa-free entry, visa on arrival, or electronic authorization. This differs from the Henley Passport Index, which placed the nation 29th globally with access to 145 destinations earlier in 2026. Additionally, a regional agreement between Barbados, Belize, Dominica, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines now allows nationals from these countries to enter, reside, and work indefinitely in one another's territories without permits.
