Spanish Police dismantle cocaine trafficking ring

Spanish National Police have dismantled a major criminal organization allegedly specializing in the transport of large quantities of cocaine from the Costa del Sol to Catalonia for international distribution.

The operation, which included searches in Málaga, Alicante, and Barcelona, resulted in 15 arrests and the seizure of over 2.7 tons of cocaine. Authorities identified the group as being composed of citizens of Albanian origin.

Investigators revealed that the network employed sophisticated logistics, including the use of luxury vehicles like the Audi RS8 to transport drugs at high speeds. They also utilized rental cars with provisional plates, shell companies, and residential properties as temporary storage sites, known as guarderías, to facilitate movement toward the French border and the rest of the European Union.
