Dominican communicators respond to public disputes

In the Dominican Republic, media personality Santiago Matías has publicly responded to criticisms made by Angelita Peña regarding national issues such as corruption, public resources, and migration. Matías countered by stating that segments of the population are also “harto” (fed up) with long-standing political figures like Peña. He criticized her political shifts over the years and referenced a 2024 legal case involving a property operation in Casa de Campo and an offshore company, Palm Beach Worldwide.

Separately, communicator Merisa Montás addressed a recent exchange with Isaura Taveras following a comment regarding age. Montás stated she did not take the reaction personally, suggesting that Taveras appeared “desproporcionada” (disproportionate). Montás defended her approach to discussing age, noting she does not feel the need to compare herself to younger individuals or rely on aesthetic procedures to feel accepted.
