Dominican Congress honors broadcaster Francis Méndez

The Dominican National Congress paid posthumous tribute to Francis Méndez, a prominent Dominican broadcaster who passed away in New York City. The tribute was initiated by Senator Carlos Gómez of Espaillat province and Representative Cirilo Moronta, who represents the first constituency in the United States.

During an ordinary session held in La Romana to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the province's foundation, a minute of silence was observed in Méndez's memory. Senator Gómez described Méndez as a mentor and a key figure in institutionalizing Dominican communication within New York's radio stations, noting that his professional style marked several generations.

Representative Moronta also highlighted Méndez's respect within the community and his professional trajectory. The request for the moment of silence was accepted by both the President of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco.
