Dominican cultural institutions launch new books on folklore and anthropology

The National Geographic Institute “José Joaquín Hungría Morell” (IGN-JJHM), in collaboration with the Dominican National Section of the Pan-American Institute of Geography and History (IPGH), held a ceremony at the National Museum of History and Geography to launch two new books.

The first work, “Folklore Desenmascarado,” authored by Carlos Hernández Soto and Edis Sánchez R., focuses on the study of the country’s folkloric and cultural expressions. The second, “Cotidianidad Dominicana (Antropología Visual)” by Odalis Rosado, provides an anthropological and visual perspective on Dominican daily life and social manifestations.

The event, led by IGN-JJHM Director Bolívar Troncoso Morales, aimed to promote the study of national identity and the preservation of Dominican history and social traditions.
