Dominican Deputy Bray Vargas Defends Personal Orientation
Deputy Bray Vargas of the Dominican Republic addressed circulating rumors about his sexual orientation in an interview with broadcaster Luz García. He said he will be with whoever makes him feel comfortable, irrespective of gender, and described himself as “sapiosexual.” Vargas added, “Yo voy a estar con quien yo me sienta cómodo, independientemente del sexo,” and noted that he does not care about how colleagues in Congress might view him after his remarks.
Political commentator Norisbel Ucita Molina responded to Vargas's statements, warning that a public figure must ensure “el personaje no se coma a la persona.” She urged the young PLD deputy to focus on his legislative legacy rather than on viral scandals, emphasizing that lasting political success depends on substantive work, not personal controversies.
