Dominican ETED to maintain Barahona transmission line

The Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica Dominicana (ETED) announced that on Saturday, 11 July, it will carry out preventive maintenance on the 69 kV Cruce de Cabral II–Barahona transmission line. Work will run from 09:00 to 13:00 and includes replacing deteriorated structures to improve operational safety and the stability of the National Interconnected Electric System.

During the intervention, electricity service will be disrupted for the Barahona community and partially for Vicente Noble and Fondo Negro as circuits BHA101‑BHA106 of the Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur (Edesur) are taken offline. Brief interruptions are also expected for Khoury Industrial and the Barahona Free Zone. ETED apologized for the inconvenience, thanked affected citizens and businesses for their understanding, and highlighted the ongoing effort to strengthen the national grid to meet growing demand and support sustainable development.
