Dominican foundations distribute school supplies to children

Non-profit organizations in the Dominican Republic have conducted distribution drives to provide school supplies to children in vulnerable communities.

In Sabana Larga, the Fundación Amigos de Sabana Larga, led by president Víctor Patrocino and Julio Lluberes, delivered school kits to children in the Los Arroyos and Las Malaguetas communities. The initiative aims to support families facing economic difficulties in preparing students for the new school year.

In the Peravia province, the Fundación Sur Apoyarte, directed by Nikaury Mejía Medina, distributed 800 backpacks and school supplies to hundreds of children across Baní and surrounding areas, including Puerto Hermoso, Salinas, and the Hogar de Niñas Las Altagracias. The foundation reported collecting a total of 1,500 backpacks through contributions from individuals and businesses. Planned upcoming activities include visits to special education schools and the community of La Yayita.
