Dominican Frente Amplio protests for lower prices and police reform
The Frente Amplio organized its seventh street march in the Guaricano sector of Santo Domingo Norte, Dominican Republic. The rally, led by party president María Teresa Cabrera and spokesperson Fidelia Rincón, demanded a substantial cut in the prices of staple foods, medicines and fuel, and called for an immediate halt to police abuses across the country.
The organization highlighted a recent municipal diagnosis that showed serious deterioration in essential services, including inadequate solid‑waste collection, limited access to health care, rising insecurity and neglected road infrastructure. The protestors said the high cost of living is severely affecting thousands of Dominican families and pledged to continue mobilisations until the government addresses these demands.
