Dominican ITLA receives record 33,274 applications for technology training scholarships

The Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) in Santo Domingo, led by rector Jimmy Rosario, reported a historic 33,274 applications for its Continuing Education programs, reflecting strong Dominican interest in technology, innovation and digital transformation. The most demanded programs were the Introduction to Cybersecurity workshop, an Artificial Intelligence workshop and Business Intelligence with Power BI, alongside courses such as AutoCAD, Microsoft SQL Server and Scrum/Agile project management.

The virtual campus attracted 22,376 applicants, enabling participants from across the country to access training without geographic limits. The highest concentration of applications came from Santo Domingo Norte and Santo Domingo Este, followed by Cotuí, San Pedro de Macorís, Bonao, Santiago and Monte Plata, with notable interest also from Moca, Nagua, San Francisco de Macorís, Pedernales and La Caleta. The call for applications ran from 7 to 17 July, covering the July‑September 2026 period and offering a range of diplomas, courses and workshops in software, data science, networking, cybersecurity, multimedia, AI, mechatronics, project management and languages.
