Dominican Republic President approves journalist pensions

President Luis Abinader has reportedly approved a proposal to provide pensions to journalists in the Dominican Republic based on age or illness. The announcement was made by Luis Pérez, president of the Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas (CDP), during the organization’s Ordinary National Assembly.

The pension initiative was presented by the CDP and the Instituto de Previsión y Protección del Periodista (IPPP). The official decree is currently awaited. During the assembly, which included delegates from various regions, the CDP also reported on the bidding and awarding of a contract for the remodeling of its main building.
