Dominican man sentenced to 10 years for sexual assault of teen in Santiago
Julio César Eusebio Pérez, identified as “César,” was sentenced by the Fourth Collegiate Tribunal of Santiago to ten years in prison for sexually assaulting and threatening death of a 13‑year‑old girl in the province of Santiago, Dominican Republic. The abuse began when the victim was 11 years old and involved the perpetrator entering the girl's home, photographing her while she bathed, and issuing threats to keep the acts secret.
The investigation was led by fiscal Ivette Martínez of the Unit for Integral Attention to Victims of Gender Violence, with litigation assistance from fiscal Jenniffer Rodríguez. The judges Rubén Darío Cruz Uceta, Rubén Rodríguez and Yasmín de los Santos also ordered Pérez to pay a fine of RD$100,000 to the Dominican state. A forensic psychological evaluation found the girl suffered mild anxiety, depression and acute post‑traumatic stress linked to the crimes.
