Dominican Ministry of Education hosts student leadership camp

The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Education (Minerd) concluded its National 'Ciudadanos al 100' Camp in Jarabacoa. Held from September 7 to 9, the event brought together 406 students to strengthen their leadership skills and civic commitment.

Organized by the Directorate of Student Participation and Leadership (PLE-RD), the camp operated under the motto 'Citizenship is not explained, it is practiced.' Participants engaged in various educational sessions, including 'Soy ciudadano,' 'Vivo como Ciudadano al 100,' and 'Dejo mi huella,' which focused on collaborative work, community service, and civic competencies.

During the program, students were introduced to the 'Ciudadanos al 100' digital platform and a new ordinance regulating the registration of 60 hours of mandatory student social service. The event also featured a panel on student leadership and presentations from 18 educational regions, where delegations shared the impact and continuity plans of social service projects implemented in their respective communities.
