Dominican Municipal Federation Announces Nominees for Juan Pablo Duarte Awards

The Federación Dominicana de Distritos Municipales (FEDODIM) has released the official list of nominees for the XI edition of the Juan Pablo Duarte Awards, which honor municipal and district governments that demonstrate transparency, effective public management and good municipal practices. The awards ceremony will be held on 16 July 2026 at the Teatro Universitario of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santiago de los Caballeros, marking the first time the gala is staged in that city and coinciding with the 530th anniversary of the founding of the First Santiago of America.

Nominees were announced in five categories for both municipalities and districts: Transparency, Gender Policy, Cultural and Sports Development, Solid Waste Management & Environmental Protection, and Participatory Budgeting. Municipal nominees include Altamira, Santiago, San Cristóbal, Tenares, Baní, Moca, Villa González and Bánica, among others; district nominees include La Victoria, La Caleta, Pantoja and additional localities.

The gala will be hosted by communicator Nelfa Núñez and will feature musical performances by Krisspy, merenguera Raquel, Robert Liriano, Yeke Lee and Grupo El Norte. The event will be broadcast live on VTV channel 32, Megavisión channel 2 and Tele Unión channel 12.
