Dominican nationals face US deportation and extradition over robbery and meth trafficking

A Dominican citizen, Stalin Acosta Paulino, was sentenced by a federal judge in Pennsylvania to approximately 35 months in prison for his role in a multi‑state slot‑machine robbery and money‑transport ring. After serving the sentence, authorities ordered his deportation to the Dominican Republic and mandated restitution of more than $896,000 to dozens of victims. The investigation involved the U.S. Secret Service, the Postal Inspection Service and police agencies in Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Separately, 38‑year‑old Dominican woman Emely Paredes Sosa was captured in La Vega province and extradited to the United States via Las Américas International Airport. She faces charges in the Southern District of New York for conspiracy to distribute and possess large quantities of methamphetamine, reflecting ongoing cooperation between Dominican and U.S. law‑enforcement agencies.
