Dominican Olympic Committee president calls for reflection ahead of elections

Garibaldy Bautista, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), has called on sports federation leaders to reflect on the upcoming elections scheduled for December 2. Bautista urged voters to consider the current administration's results, noting that the management successfully addressed a previous 28 million peso deficit and improved institutional infrastructure, including vehicle fleet renewal and headquarters rehabilitation.

In related sports news, the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame will honor the national athletics and boxing federations during its 60th exaltation ceremony on December 15. This recognition follows the strong performance of these disciplines during the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games held in Santo Domingo, where athletics secured 14 medals and boxing earned 8, including 7 gold medals.
