Police officers of the Dominican Republic's National Police arrested two men in separate drug‑related operations. In Santiago, agents intercepted Yefry Pérez, a Haitian national, and confiscated a backpack containing 443 portions of alleged controlled substances – 193 portions of marijuana, 161 of cocaine, 54 of crack and 35 of a powder identified as molly – along with RD$3,370 in cash.
In the coastal town of Sosúa, police detained Daniel Urbáez Pérez, known as “El Calvo,” seizing 306 portions of suspected narcotics – 135 portions of marijuana, 127 of cocaine, 40 of crack and four portions of a substance preliminarily identified as hashish – together with RD$1,855 in cash and a Xiaomi mobile phone. Both suspects were handed over to the Public Ministry for investigation under the Dominican drug law (Law 50‑88).
