President Luis Abinader inaugurated a series of public works across the country. In Samaná, a renovated children’s baseball stadium was delivered with an investment of RD$14.5 million, providing upgraded fields, seating and facilities for youth sport. In Los Alcarrizos, the multi‑purpose Club Deportivo Dante Lemonier was remodelling complete, costing about RD$20.9 million and creating a space for sports, cultural and recreational activities. The same municipality saw the opening of the Liceo Ercilia Pepín’s first stage, adding 26 new classrooms that will serve 960 students, and a broader rollout of six school projects in Santo Domingo that adds 77 classrooms for 2,660 students. A new solid‑waste transfer station was also inaugurated in Los Alcarrizos to improve municipal sanitation. Separately, the Department of Airports and the Dominican Navy conducted a multidisciplinary medical operation in Monte Plata, offering more than fifteen specialties to an estimated two‑to‑three thousand residents. Former president Leonel Fernández, speaking at a conference in City of Hope, called for a national priority on reading comprehension and critical thinking to counter the rapid rise of artificial intelligence in education, proposing school libraries and stronger vocabulary tools.
