Dominican President Abinader Opens Renovated Samaná Youth Baseball Stadium

President Luis Abinader, accompanied by Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz, inaugurated a newly renovated children’s baseball stadium in the municipal capital of Samaná, Dominican Republic. The refurbishment, costing 14.5 million dollars, upgraded a 3,928‑square‑metre site with a repaired playing field, new seating, player bathrooms, perimeter fencing, a septic system, electrical work, grass, sand and fresh paint.

Cruz said, “Hoy es un día de júbilo para Samaná. Estamos cumpliendo el compromiso que nació en un viaje que hizo la primera dama, Raquel Arbaje, a este lugar y se encontró con unos niños pidiéndole esta instalación.” Provincial governor Teodora Múllix and mayor Nelson Núñez praised the project as a long‑awaited transformation for local youth. The stadium’s opening is part of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation’s nationwide program to renovate sports facilities and promote recreation, training and discipline among Dominican children and young people.
