Dominican President Luis Abinader appoints three new representatives to National Council of Culture

President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic signed Decree 461‑26 to name three honorary members to the National Council of Culture. Jorge Hugo Cavoli Balbuena will represent the Provincial Development Councils, Alfredo Francés Ortiz will represent municipal authorities, and Héctor José Rizek Sued will represent the cultural sector. The appointments follow Law 41‑00, which governs the council’s composition, and replace earlier designations set out in Decree 66‑21 of February 2021. The council brings together representatives from public, social, academic, business and territorial sectors to advise on and monitor the country’s cultural policies.
