Dominican President Luis Abinader Opens Renovated Dante Lemoniel Sports Club in Los Alcarrizos

President Luis Abinader, accompanied by Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz, inaugurated the refurbished multi‑use facility of Club Deportivo Dante Lemoniel in Los Alcarrizos, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The renovation, costing roughly RD$20.9 million and covering about 840 m², included new flooring, upgraded bleachers, renovated bathrooms, a perimeter fence, FIBA‑grade basketball boards, a digital scoreboard and other improvements.

The government presented the project as part of its broader programme to modernise sports infrastructure nationwide, citing the aim to provide safe, modern spaces for youth athletics, community recreation and cultural activities. Officials said the new venue will serve thousands of local residents and contribute to the overall development of sport in the municipality.
