Dominican President Luis Abinader Urged to Build Agro‑School in Don Juan

Residents of the Sabana de Payabo community in Don Juan, Monte Plata, Dominican Republic, together with local political leader Anderson de los Santos, have asked President Luis Abinader to construct a secondary school with an agricultural focus. The community says students currently travel 15‑20 km to attend high school, and they have offered a plot of about 28 tareas for the campus.

The request is supported by local merchant Franklin Domingo Batista, while politician Nelson Brazobán has warned against private attempts to seize the land. Proponents argue that an agro‑vocational liceo would improve secondary‑education access and foster economic development in Don Juan and surrounding towns such as those in Sánchez Ramírez province.
