Dominican Republic Advances Water Sanitation with LatinoSan 2026 Conference

President Luis Abinader used the VII Latin American Sanitation Conference (LatinoSan 2026) in Punta Cana to promote the Verón‑Punta Cana aqueduct and sewerage project, which he said will serve more than one million people and support sustainable tourism. The initiative is part of the country’s Universal Sanitation Program for coastal and tourist cities.

The conference closed with remarks from INAPA director Wellington Arnaud and Health Minister Víctor Atallah, who highlighted the Dominican Republic’s progress in water and sanitation and its recognition by the Inter‑American Development Bank as a regional reference. They also announced Belize as the venue for the next LatinoSan meeting, underscoring ongoing regional cooperation.
