Ricardo de los Santos named campaign manager for Carolina Mejía

Carolina Mejía, the Mayor of the National District and a presidential aspirant for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), has officially appointed Senate President Ricardo de los Santos as her national campaign manager. The announcement was made during an event at the Carlos Teo Cruz Coliseum in Santo Domingo, attended by party leadership and territorial leaders.

De los Santos, who also leads FENATRADO, is tasked with strengthening the party's national organization, integrating various leadership groups, and expanding territorial presence. During his swearing-in, De los Santos urged supporters to defend Mejía's project through arguments rather than attacks on other party members, describing the upcoming internal competition as a contest between brothers.

Mejía's campaign has also gained notable support from Jesús ‘Chu’ Vásquez, the Dominican Consul in New York, who endorsed her candidacy, citing her performance as mayor. The appointment of De los Santos is viewed as a strategic move to consolidate Mejía's position within the PRM ahead of the 2027 internal primaries.
