The Dominican Republic and Mexico are strengthening technological ties with the state of Arizona to bolster semiconductor industry capabilities and supply chain resilience.

In the Dominican Republic, Minister of Industry, Commerce and SMEs Eduardo Sanz Lovatón signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA). The agreement aims to connect government, private sector, and educational institutions to develop specialized talent, attract investment, and promote innovation. The initiative is part of the National Strategy for the Promotion of the Semiconductor Industry (ENFIS), positioning the country as a strategic link for the CHIPS Act in the Caribbean.

Simultaneously, Mexico's Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, signed a collaboration agreement with Arizona State University (ASU). This partnership focuses on investment, innovation, and technical training in microelectronics and semiconductors. Ebrard also met with Phoenix officials and major tech companies, including Intel and TSMC, to discuss cooperation in critical minerals, electromobility, and aerospace. These efforts seek to integrate North American digital productive chains and leverage Mexico's position as Arizona's primary trading partner.
