Dominican Republic and Greece sign trade and investment agreement

The Dominican Republic and Greece have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral relations through increased trade, investment, and the development of supply chains. The agreement, signed by Dominican Foreign Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó and Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis during the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, establishes a framework for cooperation between the two nations.

A Joint Working Group will be created to explore economic strengthening mechanisms and facilitate the exchange of information and strategies between the public and private sectors of both countries. This move aims to expand Dominican exports to the Mediterranean market, which currently include tobacco, rum, footwear, and aluminum waste, totaling approximately US$2.2 million last year.
