Christian communities celebrate National Bible Day in Dominican Republic and Honduras

Christian communities in the Dominican Republic and Honduras are holding widespread celebrations for National Bible Day.

In the Dominican Republic, President Luis Abinader attended a national concentration at the Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte. During the event, the National Christian Community recognized Abinader for his six years of support to religious activities and for opening the National Palace to these celebrations. Abinader stated that his faith serves as a guide in his presidency, remarking, “The Government passes, men pass, but God remains.” Additional religious activities, including marches by Catholic faithful in Santiago and celebrations in Puerto Plata, were also reported.

Honduras marked the occasion with religious processions and parades in various cities, including Tegucigalpa. In the capital, participants utilized floats and banners to promote biblical messages. Local religious leaders emphasized the importance of the Bible in reducing social violence and providing spiritual guidance to families.

Separately, Honduras has also engaged in diplomatic efforts to expand international relations, recently establishing ties with Seychelles to cooperate on tourism and the blue economy, and reaffirming commitments with Saudi Arabia to strengthen bilateral investment and development.
