Dominican Republic Army Commander inspects border units

Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, Commander General of the Dominican Republic Army, conducted a supervisory tour of border units in the provinces of Pedernales and Independencia. The mission aimed to assess the operational readiness of military units, inspect the condition of military infrastructure, and monitor the fulfillment of border security missions.

The tour included visits to various locations, such as the Enriquillo Fortress, the B Company in El Banano, and the Cabeza de Agua detachment, which was officially handed over following renovations. Additionally, inspections were carried out at the Don Juan military post, Los Arroyos, Pirámide 284, and Caseta No. 2 within the Sierra de Bahoruco National Park. The visit concluded with inspections of the El Aguacate and Puerto Escondido detachments belonging to the 14th Infantry Battalion in Jimaní.

Accompanying the Commander General were Brigadier General Freddy Soto Thormann, Colonel Ricardo Cruz Arias, and Lieutenant Colonel José David Pimentel Mateo.
