Dominican Republic launches evaluation for Premios Soberano 2027

The Association of Art Chronists (Acroarte) began its weekend evaluation meetings to select artists and works for the 42nd edition of the Premios Soberano, scheduled for 17 March 2027. Jurors for the Cinema, Classic, Communication and Popular categories will review first‑semester productions to determine eligibility for nominations.

Acroarte president Marivell Contreras announced that the process marks the official start of work on the awards, which have been co‑sponsored by Cervecería Nacional Dominicana and produced for the fourth consecutive year by entrepreneur César Suárez Jr. The ceremony will be broadcast in the Dominican Republic on Color Visión (channel 9) and in the United States via Univisión and the ViX platform.

The executive committee, chaired by Contreras, includes José D’ Laura, Máximo Jiménez, Marino Guzmán, Enrique Medina, Glenys Abréu, Viancamely Alcántara, Ángela Genao and Ramón Paulino.
