Dominican Republic courts issue multiple prison sentences for violent crimes
Various judicial rulings have been issued across the Dominican Republic and other regions involving serious criminal offenses.
In the Dominican Republic, several significant sentences were handed down. Rubén Antonio Pacheco received 30 years in prison for attempted murder and arson targeting officials from the National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani) and a prosecutor. In Barahona, a 20-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years for the sexual violation of an 11-year-old girl. Additionally, two men were sentenced to 20 years for the killing of a woman in Santo Domingo Norte, and Alexander Ogis Grullón Polanco received 15 years for homicide in Tenares. In a high-profile case, the Supreme Court of Justice finalized a 20-year sentence for Argenis Contreras González regarding the 2017 death of Yuniol Ramírez.
In Ecuador, César Leónidas E. R. was sentenced to over 29 years for the sexual violation of his 11-year-old daughter in Guayaquil. In Uruguay, a man received a four-year sentence for aggravated sexual abuse in Fray Bentos.
